Just Edit, S.L. announces vsnmacsharer for Final Cut Pro

Barcelona - 15 July 2005 - JustEdit, S.L. enhances its product range through the development and introduction of vsnmacsharer, the acclaimed content manager for Windows, and now for MacOS.

It has similar functionality to vsnnetsharer; the content manager for network production systems using shared servers. It is the ideal solution for producing news, programmes and sports. Now contents from NLEs can be uploaded directly to broadcast video servers without the need for tapes or VTRs, and faster than real time.

Working in a SQL Server environment, vsnmacsharer allows Final Cut Pro users to catalogue and store materials on a shared server by categories (politics, sports, etc.). Storing material only requires providing a title and description and the folders physical paths are hidden. Searches are done using keywords and once the clips have been found they can be viewed in low resolution. Simply by dragging and dropping them into Final Cut Pro they are ready to be edited. Once the editing is complete, vsnmacsharer registers and copies the news, adverts, fill-ins, or even finalized programmes directly from the timeline to the broadcast video servers vsnnews and vsnmatic, through a Gigabit Ethernet without requiring tapes.

In short, TV Channels, Universities and Production Companies can now profit from integrating different NLEs, sharing the same content and distributing it for broadcast, archiving or the Web.

vsnnetsharer is compatible with the most popular NLE’s on the market including Avid, Pinnacle, Canopus Edius, Adobe Premiere and Vegas Video.

vsnmacsharer is now available from €750 per licence and it’s official launch will take place during IBC in Amsterdam from 9-13 September 2005.
