Gestmusic trusts in vsn

Barcelona – 10 November 2005. Gestmusic Endemol has chosen NRD Multimedia to manage the installation of a new system to automatically record, distribute and select content for the production of the popular new ‘zapping’ formats.

The systems allows them to digitalise entire programmes from up to 28 different television channels. The ingest of the programmes is automatic with vsnautorec which controls the video matrix 256x256 and automatically starts the recording to the exact hour in shared storage with the capacity of 1100 hours. From here, the cataloguer selects the most interesting clips by means of vsnedit which allows quick (4x) preview and precise pre-editing.

Once selected, the clips are sent to a render farm vsnrenderfarm to be consolidated into just one file. This file remains accessible for editing with Gestmusic’s NLE systems.

The entire system, has been designed and set up in record time, using shared storage, asset management, network editing and renderfarm for a fast set-up at an affordable cost.

With this new vsn solution, Gestmusic will incorporate the new equipment in the documentation department to contribute in the production of programmes such as ‘Channel4’ for the newly announced channel Cuatro, ‘Encadenados’ for Localia and ‘Zapping de Zapping’ for CityTV.
