vsn installed base growing rapidly

Barcelona – 22 February 2006 – JustEdit is delighted to announce further expansion of vsn solutions' installed base in various countries.

Following previous success in Turkey, vsn dealer EREL has been chosen to install a complete turnkey master control room system and a network production system for 2 studios, featuring 6-channel ingest, 2 studio automatic playouts, synchronized teleprompter, graphics, network postproduction, master playout and digital archive, all from vsn , for the Turkish TV channel Olay TV.

In Russia, the public broadcaster STS chose vsnnews and vsnarchive recently for a 8-seat complete digital newsroom (graphics and prompter) and integrated archive system, at its San Petersbourg branch office. The system, installed by DNK Corp, includes also advanced RT network postproduction based on Canopus Edius.

Also in russia , GTRK Omsk has just awarded system integrator Ovako a complete automation system in which vsn is taking up all the ingest process, content management, distribution and archive.

The vsn Middle East operations will be soon expanded after the installation in Media City ( Cairo , Egypt ) of one of the biggest vsn set-ups ever sold. Following the first success in Al-Shababiyah, the recently created Al-Rafidien TV channel will go on-air with a state-of-the-art automation system built around vsnmatic automation videoserver, two complete newsroom playouts (2 studios) featuring synchronized prompter and character generator and, finally, a vsnarchive , media asset management system, all from the same manufacturer to avoid the tipycal integration issues well known everywhere.

UNIACC, private university and media school in Santiago de Chile, will train future TV professionals with a vsnnews system installed by Videocorp, vsn master distributor in South America .

France is a country where vsn solutions are well established since long ago, due to a continuous effort and great ‘push' by CiS TV. Some of the new channels that chose vsn recently are Epinal TV, TeleAfrica ( Gabon 's sat channel selected a complete master control automation plus a network production system) and a recent agreement with the Antennes Locales group that will install vsn solutions as standard automation, starting with Troyes ' Canal 32. Furthermore, a very interesting master control automation was finished and on-air e/2005 for the channel ruled by the football team Olimpique de Lyon (OLTV).

In Spain , Tribuna TV Toledo (Grupo Promecal) chose vsn for a complete digital newsroom and master control solution installed by S.I. Emco. After Onda Cádiz, this TV channel is already on-air fully tapeless, based on XDCAM+ vsn workflow. The success of this project will be soon extended to several TV stations belonging to this group shortly.

Also in Spain (Alcázar de San Juan ) the Ministry of Industry is sponsoring a pilot project to pioneer the introduction of interactive DTT in Southern Europe , called ‘Digital Cities'. Under this umbrella, vsn dealer NRD was awarded the installation of the complete broadcasting and content production system for Alcázar TV due to the modularity and scaleability of vsn modules and specially its open architecture to interface with the MHP interactive applications that will be awarded soon.

Finally the brand new DTT regional channel Madrid8 is right now finishing the set-up of a digital newsroom system (5-seat newsroom integrated with Avid's NLEs, automatic ingest, playout, graphics and teleprompter) built and integrated by Promovisa.
