vsnscenes brings MXF benefits to the newsroom workflow

Barcelona, 7th April 2006: For those TV stations that acquire MXF cameras or VTRs – both XDCAM and P2 – JustEdit has develop the new vsnscenes. This new low-cost editor allows low resolution proxy preview in variable speed straight from the chosen format (XDCAM and soon P2) and selection of a list of clips or sub-clips. This process generates an EDL. The equivalent high resolution content will be automatically uploaded to the shared videoservers thus allowing instant emission from playouts or editing from NLEs. If the VTR is connected to a sole workstation, system manages users’ queues and controls MXF device from any of the Ethernet remote terminals.

vsnscenes also enables the management of the associated metadata, fully automatic disk content upload, creating EDLs on the lo-res content, voice-over, import of the EDL  created by  the cameraman or deck operator and, finally, the selection of MXF as the standard for the rest of the tapeless workflow or a loseless transcoding to AVI for the selected hi-res files.

vsnscenes is JustEdit’s new demonstration of how to adapt and open their developments to the state-of-the-art technology made by third party brands, such as Sony’s XDCAM. All content transfers are done as fast as the deck’s magnetic head is able to handle.

vsnscenes implies a revolution in the way live programming is produced, due to the exxtensive use of the new random access media along with the managed production systems in a transparent and easy way.
