7 new vsn modules at IBC 2006!

The Spanish company JustEdit will set an unpreceeding milestone at IBC showcasing for the 1st time in Europe, 7 new vsn software modules.

Even though vsnwires, external agency feeds module, and vsnscenes, tapeless News Production systems pre-editor maybe the stars (see dedicated PR), IBC attendants have the opportunity to discover 3 new solutions for Master Control Room and Archive, along with the new 3.0 version of the famous vsnmatic, the popular graphic generator vsncg’s version 2 and version 2.4 of the vsnprompter. All five of them, recently released, integrate seamlessly with the existing vsn systems.

Compatible with vsnmatic, JustEdit is proud to introduce vsnstat, developped under request of several customers, which provides sophisticated statistics and reports of all broadcasted content (general affairs, advertising…).

Version 3 of vsnmatic features several interesting functionalities such as the capability to import/export rundowns to/from 3rd parties, the posibility of preparing playlists including “virtual” clips and associate the content as soon as this is uploaded to the server, and moreover, the real time remote operation from various nodes. The automation software also features new capabilities, i.e. the ‘coming next’ function, even more powerful when operated with the new scheduling software vsnfiller, to manage specialized channel with the minimum resources.

vsnfiller empowers vsnmatic’s features through the fast and automatic creation of playlists for several days, following simple criteria established by the broadcast manager, shuffling the existing content in the videoserver. Once created, the playlists can be fulfilled with live events, breaking news, etc.

vsnfiller automates the emission of thematic channels (music, documentaries…), even better if it’s installed along with the new vsncg release. This version automatically inserts the names of ‘on-air’ programmes or ‘coming next’ programmes, selecting whether the upcoming event has relevant content or not. vsncg has also improved its capability to load animations for real-time multilayering, and its close integration with the studio playouts through a specific view/screen. The subjective graphic quality is also enhanced, specially for the SDI version.

Also new at IBC06, the vsnmedia store was designed for small-mid size channels that don’t require high end off-line archive solutions, but an agile and flexible content management for their videoservers. Through a powerful easy-to-use GUI, this module enables users to catalogue and search video footage very quickly. It also features a transparent integration with vsnmatic and vsnfiller.
