Televicentro (Honduras) - information

The Televicentro Corporation was created in 1987, thus merging in one company the three main TV channels in Honduras, Canal 5, Canal 3 & 7 and Telecadena 7 & 4.
Pioneering the HD introduction in Honduras, Televicentro is preparing the HD transition. 'Our idea is to consolidate in one single step the move from analogue to digital and the transition towards HD in one single step', states Rafael Villeda, Executive VP at Televicentro. 'That's why we decided to move towards HD production first'.
For HD News production Televicentro is trusting Sony, Miranda and VSN's technology. The broadcaster has ordered a complete automation system from VSN, including a 4-channel automation system (VSNMULTICOM), plus an automated ingest solution, a 4-In/8-out video-server, 15 clients for the newsroom and a legal compliance system for the four main channels. All of it based on VSN's storage and network architecture.
