TDIP Televisions Digitals Independients de Proximitat (Spain) - case study

TDIP Televisions Digitals Independients de Proximitat is a private DTT association chaired by Frederic Cano from ETV. This group comprises 15 local channels that operate in Catalonia, Valencian Community, Balearic Islands, South of France and Sardinia (Italy). The content provider lets all members use up to 20 hours per week of shared content, and they can also offer their local content to other broadcasters.

The Challenge

Before using VSNIPTRANSFER, TDIP members had to prepare every week 15 DVDs with selected contents to be sent by courier to other associates. As a result, high cost and poor quality

The Solution

TDIP implemented VSNIPTRANSFER system in all its offices
Every node can preview content proxies and select the favorite segments before downloading
The next step for this project is the development of a website, using VSNIPTRANSFER technology, which will allow members to manage their forecasts and news coverage, as well as exchange programs with other networks

The Results

The program exchange is immediate, the content keeps the original quality and the transfer is made using the desired format for every member of the group, with a transparent registration process in their video servers
