vsnsharer - Overview

VSNNETSHARER, VSNARCHIVE's on-line module, is the content manager of the entire VSN network. This software allows journalists, editors, postproduction teams and anyone else, to quickly find video material stored on line in video servers from their own PCs.

As it is linked with the archiving system, the clips can be retrieved from the near line or off line storage units. The video clips are classified in categories without hard drive paths and a powerful text browser helps find keywords in the database. Once found, the low resolution video files can be previewed in Windows Media 9 format.

VSNNETSHARER is the tool used by all NLE's to register and copy their projects (spots, flashes or even programs) directly to the VSN playouts. This way, the use of VTRs, tapes and displacements are avoided. All footage is transferred through the network in a fully tapeless TV operation.

MAC version:

VSNMACSHARER essentially bridges the gap between Mac OSX NLE and VSN for Windows systems. It is the content manager for the entire vsn digital and automated network.

It allows journalists, editors and postproduction teams to register, copy and share materials/files between different servers i.e. VSNMATIC, VSNNEWS and the daily server, inside the VSN system. All NLE’s can now register and copy their projects (spots, flashes or even programs) directly to any VSN playout through the network.
