VSNIPTRANSFER is the latest addition to the VSN world of broadcast solutions. VSNIPTRANSFER completes the digital workflow enabling a fast, secure and transparent exchange of broadcast files between remote locations via inexpensive standard IP links such as DSL, 3G, etc.

Built on the latest development tools, VSNIPTRANSFER is an open platform that can be flexibly adapted to existing infrastructure and immediately deliver a dramatic running cost reduction to companies that need to exchange broadcast contents regularly.

Latest version 7.0 of VSNIPTRANSFER shows the important advances recently developed by VSN concerning file transfer technologies. As the main highlights, we can emphasize the ability to make Live transfers while simultaneously registering video files in the central server; the possibility for uncompressed transferring, i.e. DVCPro25 MXF or XDCAM HD; a complete new delivery-reception chain in .mov formats; considerable speed increase and, optionally, the possibility to work with the new UMP protocol. This protocol, entirely developed and patented by VSN, provides noticeable increases in transfer speed, at rates 10 to 20 times faster than other technologies, especially when the distance among nodes is very long.

Publishing and Download

Media items are published with the VSNIPTRANSFER client in a repository server on the platform. You select the source file that is going to be published, describe it, choose a repository folder and the compression profile. Finally, you select the files to be attached to the media contents for transferring.

You can directly search for media items through the catalog manager and acces the original data to assess the quality of the compressed file. Define the download parameters and proceed to download. That simple!.

Managing the catalog

Among other actions, the catalog manager allows deleting contents already published, modify the data added at publishing time and see the parameters of the original file as well as the key frames. Empty clips can also be added to the server. VSNIPTRANSFER allows importing text-system scheduled rundowns like Avid iNews or ENPS.

Control of processes and users

VSNIPTRANSFER features a transfer monitor tool that gives administrators total control over the whole number of transfers in all servers and all client nodes on the platform. For each particular transfer, all possible data (name, duration, target, source,etc.) can be monitored. VSNIPTRANSFER’s administrator tool allows creating users, folders, granting permissions and allocating content publishing within each server on the platform.
