RTB - Radio Télévision du Burkina (Burkina Faso) - information

The Radio Télévision du Burkina is the national broadcaster of the West African State of Burkina Faso. Radio Télévision du Burkina has its headquarters in the capital city, Ouagadougou. It was founded in 1963 with the name of Volta-vision. At the beginning, it used to broadcast only 2 hours per day, from 19h to 21 h. Saturdays were chosen for maintenance. The transmitter had a bidirectional antenna that did not operate more than 20 km. In 1984, the TV broadcasted 6 days per week, from Tuesday to Sunday. Since September 1998, the National Television of Burkina broadcasts 75 hours of programs a week.
