Listen to our Customers: Kantipur TV (Nepal)

At VSN we believe in state-of-the-art technology that improves workflows for the Media & Entertainment industries and shortens the gap between companies and audiences. But we also believe that our satisfied users are the best ambassadors for our technologies, and we are glad to give them a space to express their thoughts on their experience with VSN. And today we have with us the main executives of one of the main Asian private channels, Nepal’s Kantipur TV.

Kantipur TV is the leading private television station in Nepal, which started operating in the country in July 2003. Commonly known as KTV, it has grown significantly in the last years and it has marked a milestone in the broadcasting history of Nepal. Its main purpose is to offer the Nepalee perspective in a fast changing environment through information and entertainment. And in order to achieve all these goals and excellence standards in broadcasting, Kantipur opted for installing a complete VSN’s News and Media Management systems for the total automation of all its daily tasks.

“When we launched this television, our whole workflow was based on a tape based workflow system. We decided to convert our tape based environment to a complete tapeless digital environment. This helped us to reduce the operation time of our employees and increased the efficiency in news, production and transmission. We were also ready for deploying a second television channel”, declares Matindra Pradhan, Executive Engineer at Kantipur TV. “We met all of our goals after installing VSN’s Automation System and recently we have launched our second television channel, Kantipur Gold Entertainment and Sports”.

VSN’s systems and Support Services currently enhances Kantipur’s workflows with the latest technology. VSNNEWS, VSN’s Newsroom Computer System (NRCS)manages all their news’ workflows and broadcastings, while VSNMULTICOM, VSN’s automation solution, skyrockets its Master Control Room (MCR)’s productivity. “I am really happy working with the VSN team and I have got to learn many things”, declares Rabindra Paneru, System Administrator at Kantipur TV, “ and I would like keep working in the future with VSN’s Support Team”.
